Sentient Float Rods
Using the correct guides, reel seat and handle is very important when designing a rod, but the real key to a good rod is the design and construction of the blank. The new CarbonActive Sentient range still retains the 'non-lockup actions' from the first CarbonActive.
These new rods were initially suggested by Tom Pickering who felt there was a gap in the market that needed to be filled. Whilst many manufacturers have been concentrating on rods suitable for match sized carp, few have also focused on more traditional match rods suited to light lines..

All of the models have the CarbonActive 'non lock-up' action designed for optimum fish-playing and the correct amount of casting power, lower in the blank, for accurate, long distance casts.

13' SENTIENT FLOAT ROD
The Sentient 13' Float sets new standards in rod design. Finished in a dark blue, with complimentary whippings that are common to the full Sentient range, the 13' Float is beautifully refined, light and responsive. The fine hollow tip is soft enough for the finest hook lengths and blends perfectly to the middle section which has a mellow action that absorbs sudden increases in pressure.

13' SENTIENT POWER FLOAT
Developed as the natural 'step-up' in power from the original 13'. The 13' Power Float retains all of the balance and action qualities of the Sentient 13' Float but with extra power where it's needed. Perfect for fishing with big floats and strong tackle for carp and other bigger fish, the progressive action offers excellent fish-playing control. Now with soft touch handle. Line rating 3 to 8lb

14' SENTIENT FLOAT ROD
The Sentient 14' Float has all the characteristics of the 13' version. The additional length makes it perfect for all round river work or distance float fishing where ultra fast line pick-up is required. The advanced blend of carbon in the blank gives the 14' Float a very fast tip speed whilst retaining a soft tip that can be used with the lightest of hook lengths.

17' SENTIENT FLOAT
Light and responsive, with a traditional float fishing action plus stiffness and power in the butt and middle sections, the 17' is made with just 3 sections as opposed to the normal 4 - this delivers an action and a feel that is more like a 14' or 15'. Ring quantity and spacing has been carefully selected to maximise performance. Like all the new Sentient it comes with a new 'soft touch' reel seat. Line rating 2.5 to 6lb
